Piraeus Bank Grup’un Kültür Vakfı (www.piop.gr), her yıl düzenlenen "Avrupa Kültür Başkenti" festivaline, İstanbul’da Sanat Limanı’nda (Antrepo 5), 30 Temmuz ve 19 Eylül 2010 arasında yer alacak iki sergi ile katılıyor."Yunanistan’da mimari paralellikler: 19. yüzyıl geleneğinden 21. yüzyıl değişikliğine" ve ‘’Aramızdaki Mekan’’
‘’Aramızdaki Mekan’’ adlı güncel sanat sergisi, bu mekâna özel bir enstalasyon olarak, nesneler, çizimler ve resimler ile bir Yunan ve iki Türk sanatçıları arasında diyalog açan bir etkinlik oluşturur.
Eleni Kotsoni’nin eseri, genellikle mekân kavramını fikir ikameti olarak ve geçiş kavramını bir güzergâh ve kayıtlama olarak belirtir. Yarattığı mekâna özel enstalasyonlarda, çizimler, resimler, fotoğraflar, dokunmuş kumaşlar, tahta parçaları, gündelik hayatın basit materyalleri ve eski eserlerinden geriye kalan parçaları dâhil eder; böylece bir çeşit "takvim mekânı" yaratır. Çizimlerinde örnek uygarlık motifleri kullanır; bunları devamlı bir aranjman sürecinde tahrif eder. Daha sonra, bir ön bakışla sayısız tesadüfî şekillere adapte olabilen, çeşitli unsurlardan ibaret bu koleksiyon, temelinde bir kimsenin alternatif ikamet şekilleri düşünebileceği bir mozaik oluşturur.
Raziye Kubat, ‘’A4 Ahşap Sayfalar’’ ve ‘’Türkiye Vapuru’’ çalışmalarıyla sergide yer almaktadır. ‘’A4 Ahşap Sayfalar’’ sanatçının İspanya’daki Residency programına katılımı süresince ürettiği, küçük ahşap kartlar üzerine farklı tekniklerle uyguladığı notlardır. ‘’Türkiye Vapuru’’ isimli çalışması da bu sayfalara eşlik etmektedir.
Çağrı Saray bu sergiye yeni bir enstalasyonla katılıyor. "Aramızdaki mekân" için de anlatıyor: “Geride bıraktığı hayatı ve Kayıp Oda’yla birlikte sırra kadem basan tüm geçmişi artık çok uzaklarda… Her ne kadar öfkesini tek bir kişiye odaklamış olsa da, karşısında intikam alması gereken koca bir şehir var; doğup büyüdüğü, ‘ev’ dediği yer ve bir bayrak… ADAM, kaderini yazmak üzere şehrin tepesindeki yerini almış durumda. Sabahın ilk ışıklarıyla başlayan bu bekleyiş, şehri aniden saran sesle geri dönüşü olmayan bir ritüele dönüşüyor. Ses tüm evlerin duvarlarına, çatılarına, antenlerine çarpıyor. Tüm şehir bu rezonansa direnç gösteriyor. Yakında hiçbir şey eskisi gibi olmayacak.”

A Space Between

The Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation (www.piop.gr) is participating in the major cultural event, the annual organization of the «European Capital of Culture», with two exhibitions that will be on show at Sanat Limanι (Antrepo 5), in Istanbul, from July 30 to September 19, 2010 (opening night on Friday, 30th July, at 7pm): «Architectural counterpoints in Greece: from 19th century tradition to 21st century mutations» and «A space between» (Eleni Kotsoni, Çağrı Saray, Raziye Kubat).
The site-specific installation «A space between» is a «special» construction of objects, drawings and paintings, elaborated through the dialogue of three artists, one Greek and two Turkish.
The work of Eleni Kotsoni usually focuses on the concept of space as an abode of ideas, as well as on the concept of passage as a situation of both a journeying and a recording. In the site-specific installations she creates, Kotsoni incorporates sketches, photographs, interwoven bits of fabric, pieces of wood, everyday base materials and remnants of previous works, reconstructing a kind of «calendar space». In her sketches, she uses different cultures' archetypal motives that she adulterates, thanks to a process of continual transcription. Then, this collection of, at a first glance, heteroclite parts, which can be assembled in innumerable fortuitous ways, composes a dappled mosaic, in whose matrix one can imagine alternative manners of dwelling.
Raziye Kubat, participates with two works; ‘’A4 Wooden Pages’’ and Turkish Boat’’. ‘’A4 Wooden Pages’’ are the small notes that were taken during Artist’s residency experience in Spain and applied on wooden postcards with various techniques. ‘’Turkish Boat’’ also comes along with these wooden pages.
Çağrı Saray participates in the exhibition with a new installation and writes on the subject of «A space between»: «The life that he left behind, and his past that vanished into thin air together with the Lost Room, are now so far, far away… The Man takes his position on the top of the city to fulfill his destiny. The waiting that started with the first light of the day suddenly transforms into an irreversible ritual with a call that suddenly surrounds the city. The calling hits all the walls, roofs and antennas of the houses. The whole city resists the resonance and prepares for a change. Soon nothing will be the same again.»
